Short version: Tweet Cleaner does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data whatsoever. Everything happens locally in your browser. No servers. No accounts. No tracking.
1. What data we collect
None. Tweet Cleaner does not collect any personal data, usage data, or any other information from its users.
2. How the extension works
Tweet Cleaner operates entirely within your browser tab on X.com (formerly Twitter). It:
Reads tweet content visible on your own profile page to identify tweets matching your filters.
Sends delete requests to X.com on your behalf, using your existing logged-in session — exactly as if you clicked "Delete" manually.
Stores your filter preferences (count, date range, delay setting) locally in Chrome's storage API — this data never leaves your device.
3. Data we do NOT collect
Your X / Twitter username or password
Your tweet content
Your browsing history
Your IP address
Any analytics or usage statistics
Any personal or identifying information
4. Data storage
Your filter preferences (e.g. how many tweets to delete, date range) are saved locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage API. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to any server.
5. Third-party services
Tweet Cleaner does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The extension does not communicate with any external server other than X.com (which you are already logged into).
6. Permissions
Tweet Cleaner requests the following Chrome permissions:
storage — to save your filter preferences locally on your device.
tabs — to detect which tab is open and whether you are on your X.com profile.
scripting — to interact with the X.com page to scan and delete tweets.
host permission for x.com / twitter.com — required to operate on those pages.
None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit data.
7. Children's privacy
Tweet Cleaner does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
